Chocolate chip cookies are a beloved treat that evokes a sense of nostalgia and comfort that transcends generations. The perfect blend of a crispy outside and a soft chewy inside combined with those melty chocolate chips creates an irresistible combination that has captivated taste buds for decades. I can remember coming home to the smell of freshly baked cookies permeating every room of my house. Chocolate chip cookies were and still very much are my mothers weakness. Now that I have children of my own, I love watching their little hands as they help me to break the eggs and pour the flour – and their faces as they eventually enjoy the final delicious result.I have made these cookies not only for my family but also on several occasions for my husband to take to work. According to my husband they are an office favorite! If you give them a try you definitely wont be disappointed!
Tips for the best Chocolate chip cookies
- Do not skip freezing the dough for a minimum of 20 mins before baking. This is crucial to get the crispy outside.
- Do not overmix. This can alter the texture of the cookie
- You can double the recipe and freeze the dough in individual portions and then store in an airtight container. This will keep you prepared anytime you have a cookie emergency!

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place onto a cookie tray and bake for 10-12 mins. It may be shorter or longer depending on your oven. I would give it a peak around 9 mins. The cookies should be golden brown. Sometimes I leave them in there a little longer if I am feeling a bit more on the crispy side!
