Sunday Roast Beef
With this easy and delicious recipe, you can enjoy a comforting and hearty meal that your family will love. Tender fall apart roast surrounded by rich beefy broth and melt in your mouth carrots and potatoes
As a mom there are several tricks we have up our sleeves to keep a house running smoothly. One of them is to learn how to take the fuss out of dinner making. And learning how to roast meat is one of those tricks I think every new mom should be able to do with ease. I am always looking for ways to make delicious meals that are also easy and convenient. That’s why I’m such a big fan of the crock pot. It’s a lifesaver for busy moms who want to put a healthy, hearty meal on the table without spending hours in the kitchen.
I make this Roast Beef once a month and it is always a delight. The beef is packed with complex flavors, it is so tender it just falls apart, and the velvety sauce, a perfect complement to creamy mashed potatoes, elevates the dish to new heights. The flavors truly are a testament to the art of slow cooking and roasting. When my family walks into the door to the aroma of roast beef their faces always light up.
Where I source my Meat
I’ve been in love with Wild Pastures, our monthly meat subscription box. Their commitment to sourcing pasture-raised meats from regenerative family farms has transformed our meals. Unlike conventionally raised meats, pasture-raised animals enjoy a natural, humane life, grazing freely on grass. This lifestyle results in meat packed with essential nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Plus, the flavor and tenderness are unparalleled. One of the monthly staples I get in the box is a whole chicken that I roast in the oven. Afterwards I am left with the bones and connective tissues which I then turn into bone broth. Two meals!!

Why the Crock Pot is a Busy Mom’s Best Friend
- Hands-Off Cooking: Simply prep the ingredients, pop them in the crock pot, and let it work its magic all day long.
- Flavorful Results: Slow cooking allows the flavors to meld together, creating a tender, juicy, and incredibly flavorful pot roast.
- Versatile Dish: The leftovers can be used for sandwiches, soups, or a variety of other dishes.
Tips For The Perfect Sunday Roast Beef
Choose the Right Cut: Opt for a cut with good marbling, like rib roast, top sirloin, or chuck roast. These cuts will be tender and flavorful when cooked properly.
Season Generously: Don’t be afraid to season your beef generously with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. This will enhance the flavor of the meat.
Make a Delicious Gravy: Use the cooking liquid to make a rich and flavorful gravy. That is the best part!
Be sure to sear beforehand: For a richer flavor, sear the roast before adding it to the crock pot. This will give the meat a nice crust and enhance the flavor of the gravy.
What To Serve With Sunday Roast Beef
Roast beef goes perfectly with so many things! A classic option would be creamy mashed potatoes and a veggie like roasted brussel sprouts, roasted root vegetables, or asparagus. You can also turn the leftovers into a beautiful roast beef sandwich! This year I am actually serving this as our Thanksgiving meal and I am serving it with my favorite side of all time, the best Green Bean Casserole.
