What is Washing Soda?
Although we are making washing soda from baking soda, chemically speaking they are different. Washing soda is Sodium Carbonate and Baking soda is Sodium Bicarbonate. When we heat the Baking soda we cause a chemical decomposition which is essential for creating a rise in bake goods as well as producing washing soda. The PH of washing soda is between 11 and 12 so when we dissolve it in water, it creates an alkaline solution that has seriously powerful cleaning properties.
